WiFi extender with F@st 5355 I have purchased a Wireless 300Mbps N 802.11 WiFi range extender to connect my IQ2 Foxtel STB to the internet. A powerline adapter will not work as my house has several power circuits and I don’t have a common circuit in proximity to my F@st 5355 .
SAGEMCOM F@ST 5355 GATEWAY Disclaimer This is not an official document. I am not employed by Telstra nor am I an IT person. I wrote this document because setting up my gateway was a hassle due to the lack of a manual or any set up information on Testras Web Site.
7/28/2018 · Today well be taking a look at the Telstra F@st 5355 Wifi Router which supports ADSL2+/VDSL2+ on the DSL port, Gigabit WAN port, PSTN and Phone port, 2x 100Mbit LAN ports, 2x USB 2.0 ports, 802.11ac/802.11n Wifi and DECT. I was trying to look for some screws but couldnt find any at first until I eventually found there were 3 under the label.
9/5/2017 · We migrated to the NBN, FTTN, and found the provided F@st 5355 woeful. Especially the 5G coverage. We’ve gone back to using the TG799vac with no problems. There is a WiFi blackspot towards the back of the house (the Master Toilet of all places!) and seeing as the F@st isn’t unpleasant to look at I was hoping to position it as a WiFi extender .
Telstra (Sagemcom) 5355 as base WiFi repeater Answered. Can the Telstra (Sagemcom) 5355 , supplied to be connected to the NBN, be used as a base WiFi repeater? I am not talking about bridging. This gateway can bridge so it should be able to do WPS ( Wireless Distribution System). … You could use a WiFi extender that has a LAN port as shown below.
Re: Poor WiFi signal with F@st 5355 In response to cf4 Can your extender be put in AP (Access Point) mode and then connect it to the 5355 by Ethernet cable and disable WiFi on the 5355 ?, cf4 – thank you. So do I understand correctly I should manually set the IP Address range in the 5355 to the same range in the new unit, and then allocate a fixed IP address from the new unit for the 5355 ?. Also WiFi – 5355 has two SSID’s – one is suffix -5G (presuming this is 5Ghz – i.e. 5355 has dual band) – but new unit only has one SSID – is this a problem?
